Hmm, do you work for ADOT? Heh. I'm not sure, if they're going to alleviate the problem then I suppose they should; I haven't been that far west in months but I'd think that if the metering system work in all the other places it would likely work there, unless there's something special about the Litchfield onramps.

I've been lucky enough to have my last two jobs be close enough to home I didn't need to take the freeway; starting next week with the new job it's going to be 60 to the 101 to the 202...sigh.

Do you mean set up the ramps with signal lights to control the flow of traffic onto the I10? I'm not familiar with the interchange so I don't know if that kind of metering would improve traffic flow or not. The interchange may need a total rebuild to handle the volume including longer acceleration lanes. (Can't recall if Alabama has them or not and definitely don't know if it's in Arizona. Do know that US on ramps are definitely death traps due to the lack of merge area.) Can tell you that any signal light systems I have come across in the northern US or Canada don't make much difference in rush hour. It's still park and park traffic through them.
