Good: All wheel traction and handling, amenities, character
Bad: fuel economy worse than competitors by a little bit, not as bullet-prrof reliability as Honda & Toyota, slightly higher cost due to all wheel drive
The verdict: A good choice in places where there is snow or a lot of rain, an average choice everwhere else. If weather is not an issue, you really need to decide if you like the car's character or not.

I had a Subaru and liked it best of any car I've owned. The all wheel drive is great and the Outback's a great car! Get one! Wish I could.
