I am due in 4 weeks and heard that Red Rasberry leaf tea helped during labor and delivery. I started drinking a cup or two a day about 4 weeks ago. Do you know if it will make you deliver early? I don't want to be having my baby on the way to the hosp. or deliver at home. I'm just looking for something to ease the pain a bit. I'd appreciate any input anyone may have on this product and your experience.

My midwife just prescribed this for me, too, and I took 1 tablet at 37 weeks and now I take 2 tablets since I'm at 38 weeks.

Red raspberry leaf is not only supposed to tone the uterus for labor, but also decrease the amount of bleeding you have after the birth. I don't think it's supposed to relieve pain, but just give you a headstart on labor by the gentle contractions it stimulates in the weeks leading up to birth.

Like you, this is my first time trying it. I have already noticed my braxton-hicks contractions are more frequent but only time will tell when I see how I manage my labor and also how my bleeding is afterwards. Many women swear by this stuff and it's centuries old.

If you get tired of taking the tea and want to try the tablets, you can purchase them online from Herbal Extracts Plus.

i didnt see where it helped me the best advice i can give you is to take a labor and delivery class practice your breathing and walk and walk and walk as for the pain get the epidural there is nothing that will take away that pain but an epidural really helps but try to do the pushing without the delivery dose as that allows you to participate but if it gets to be too much you still have backup within reach but walk every chance you get that really helps also kegels do too

I tryed it because someone told me it would help me go into labor earlier... didn't work... and didn't do anything about the pain.
