We used to call ours Fred, but you can call a baby goat (kid) what ever name you choose. They will normally come when they are called.

Most people call them "kids". A female goat kid is a "doeling" and a male goat kid is a "buckling". A castrated male is a wether no matter what his age.

a kid, whitch was called a kid first a human child, or a young goat? as a goat breeder i have wondered about this many times. i think it must be because ofthe simularity of their way of running and playing.
