Where i live there should be a melting pot of people working in business's. but i notice i go to the store, bank, doctor's office and there are no people of color, no minorites and I live in a well populated area, vacation central. When will we open our eyes and demand this wrong! the world is made up of alot of different people and great cultures. Am I wrong to say I would like to see more than white people everywhere i go?

I know this one. Racism is not as bad as it was when my grandfather was my age. It is better today than it was for my father. So we have to go with the concept that people view racism as something that has gotten better over time. Are we where we should be? No. Are we living in the 1860's...1890's...1920's...1940's...1960's...1980's...? No. The climate is much better today. We have to recognize that fact before we can move forward.

There was a time when there were no people of color in any professional or public fields anywhere in the US. Now, the situation is different. There are areas where minorities are underrepresented for sure, but nothing like we have seen in the past. What is the make up of your community? Have you applied for employment in any of these areas? If you aren't willing or do not need to work there, how can you determine it is racist?

Some areas of the country seem to be more mixed than others, but it would be nice to see more of a blend everywhere.
On the other hand you can't force people to live in one place or another. And even in the "mixed" areas of the country racism exists too. So blending isn't necessarily the answer.

As far as racism in general; I think it's often ignored or glossed over because people don't see what the don't want to see.

Unfortunately there is racism out there. It was worse when I was a kid and before my generation. You can help make a difference in your world by hanging out with people not of your race and nationality. I have lived in 5 states, traveled all over the country and world and and have lived in 2 other countries. The problem is fear of the different and lack of understanding. Make an effort to be nice to all people. They will appreciate it.

You are entitled to your opinion, however I must point out that by using the term "white people" you are guilty of being racist yourself. I have been on the receiving end of what is known as reverse racism to know that racism exsists. Perhaps you should check the consensus for your area to see the perchentage of the different ethnic groups that live there. But you have to understand that one of the ways to stop racism is to disempower the language that connotates it and to be accepting of all ethnicities including those that fall under the majority category.

Honey, there's racism on both sides of the fence. It is not one sided.

I went to the bank the other day with a friend of mine & there were nothing but black tellers working. My friend is white & they skipped over her 4 times to wait on black individuals, until their white manager said something.

So it is not one-sided. All races are predjudice. The 'race' card doesn't work anymore. There are too many inter-racial people now. .It's time to move pass this issue and realize ALL people are predjudice to a certain extent about different things.

You are proving that you are a racist by your opening statements by pointing out "White People". Whether you what to admit it or not, you are predjudice...

You said that you don't feel that you are in a minority poluated area. Maybe you should move to be with people of color, that would be more suited to your liking, if you don't like where you are at.

i imagine your very last statements, shows your view and could answer you besides the shown actuality that it truly is glaring that you do not favor to hearken to an purpose answer, i do not outline racism because the region of the talk over reverend wright and barrack obama to spin the point into racism as obama did is the way that racial tensions are stirred, the point of obama's relationship to the rev replaced into and remains negative judgment, certain there is racism contained in the country, maximum being stirred with the help of antagonists who've no longer something more effective acceptable to do than stir issues up anonymously, it truly is my opinion that persons alongside with reverend wright keep African human beings stirred up of their community per chance because of resentment from the evil options they were dealt with, yet this no longer being the fault of maximum persons white human beings, at the same time as i replaced into contained in the military provider on the turn of the 50's decade racial tensions appeared to be a element of the previous, contained in the USCG any way, i could chance a wager that a large type of the racial slop on Y-A is with the help of except adults merely titillating those that could do an similar, and some illiterate adults as well

People DO NOT act like there is no racism! Do we live on the same planet? There is racism all over, in evey state. Whites are slowly becomming a minority, slowly. I am white and my gf is multi-racial, people look at us even in big cities, there is also NO such thing as reverse racism. Racism is racism no matter what color is doing it.

Its easier to just act blind for most people, we live in a society that all to often doesn't like to confront the real issues and instead try to say that the issue doesn't exist.

Because we are all human, we have to compete and excel to survive. Racism is one form of competition. For example: Do you have preferences? such liking an ugly person over a good looking one, or disassociating yourself with a fat person, or a homosexual. If you do, you are practicing a form of racism.

You could change things in some small way by opening your own busines and hiring whoever makes sense to you. Very unlikely you are the only one who misses a bit of variety.
