I am teaching in South Carolina. Could really use history certification to go with my PE degree. Thanks for the help!

I am not from South Carolina but I will tell you.
Go to www.ets.org/praxis and look up your praxis requirements for your subject. Look under your state and print them out.
Then, go to south carolina department of education and look up the teacher certification manual. Then call up the licensing department and ask them. Most likely one of those has at least part of the answer for you. I personally do not know because I am not from South Carolina.
Websites to search:http://www.ets.org/praxis, http://www.scteachers.org/cert/index.cfm,
http://www.scteachers.org/cert/manual.cfm.
Sorry I am not from South Carolina so I really could not answer this very well. When I wanted to go to another state, I looked for the other states department of education website, I looked up licensing information and certification information, and I looked at www.ets.org/praxis.

I'm pretty sure that South Carolina takes the Praxis as well as many other states. Try:

http://www.scteachers.org/

and

http://ed.sc.gov/

You'll have to check with the state to see the additional class/semester hour requirements.
