A friend of mine had an issue today with his girlfriend and wouldl like an opinion. About a month ago, they got into an argument and she ran to a friend of hers and said all these terrible, untrue things about him. They ended up working things out and now regrets telling her friend these things. She was invited to a BBQ today by that friend and her friend said that he is not allowed to go. Well, she planned on going and told him she did not want him to go anywhere because he needed to stay home and watch the food in the oven. He said, I don't want to stay here all day if I am not allowed to go with you, so I am going to see my friend. She got SO MAD and said he never does anything for her and she just wanted to make him dinner. I think she was only going to make the dinner because she wanted to force him to stay home all day and that she was trying to control him. I think its crap. What do you think?

I am in no way trying to influence him. They are both friends of mine, and were before they got together. I try and stay out it as much as possible.

I think she's a controlling freak, I don't think he should stay with her, and putting up with all this crap that she's giving him, he sounds like a good guy, so I don't think she deserves him, she should show some respect, or tell him to leave her. No one can handle a controling relationship. Enough is enough.

Sounds like this relationship is already doomed. You should never say bad things about a person that you love, especially to friends or family unless you think you need they're help to get away from a dangerous situation, then of course you should do it for your own safety. This sounds very "high-school".If this is the case, just realize that you will experince so much more in the years to come and that drama should be spent on those who are pursuing an actig career. You can never control another person,it causes nothing good for either of you.The choice one makes in a relationship should be out of love, not fear of the consequences.Good luck to your friend.
P.S.
You shouldn't feel like you have a responsibility to ask this question for your friend, let her work it out and you can be supportive without making it your problem.

Neither of these people is ready to have a serious adult relationship. They both need several years of maturity and personal growth. The fact that your friend would stay for ONE SECOND with this woman proves this is true for him. They are both at about the same level maturity-wise, so both of them need to focus on their own education, careers, and if there are any children involved, on the loving and responsible caretaking of their own children. Maybe in 2-3 years they'll be ready for a mature relationship with a sexual partner. Until then, they need to focus on growing up.

Well, I think that he should make up his own mind on how much crap he is willing to take, but it also sounds like you aren't doing a very good job of staying out it.

I think his staying or leaving is solely his decision. Without going into lengthy reasons, I think there is more to the story than you know as people often exaggerate their opponent woes and minimizes their own wrong doings. I suggest you allow him to decide for himself without your influence.
