How old are you, dear?
You need some friends and someone to talk to. If you can't find any friends right now, can you find a good counselor or therapist to tide you over until you make some friends?
Also, if you think you have clinical depression, you should see a doctor. It is a medical condition in addition to being an emotional difficulty, and there is perhaps some help available for you from a doctor.
Depression is hard to handle. It is best not to make huge decisions when depressed. For example, don't end your life.
You will get through this.

welcome to the club. however i have been diagnosed with depression but i currently take nothing for it because since my diagnosis i have found a way to make myself be an out going person even when i have no desire to even leave my room. honestly i have thought about suicide recently however i think about what is the most important thing to me in my life and that is my child. i dont get to see him because my ex is a ***** but i have hope than someday i will get to see him again and be able to be there for him. so my advise to you is find something you really care about or are really passionate about, like music for example, and focous on whatever it may be or the many things that they might be. just a suggestion take it or leave it.one more thing you will not ever find happiness at the bottom of a bottle. ive tried and found it a waste of time and money. if ya want look me up on yahoo 360 and ill be your friend

Too many people don't have anyone to turn to just that people are not as courageous as you to admit it. Some people even lie that they have someone.
Would being less generous to the point of expecting no favours being return for your deeds help you to feel less used?
how close are you to your family members/relatives?
They may be able to take away some of your social burdens and meet your needs.
Everybody has weaknesses but is it possible that some of your weaknesses prevents you from keeping friends? (many times it's the other parties fault for being a real diick)
you can try journalling for the meantime, it helped me to keep my sanity when i had to study uni and work.

You may need help with depression so go to your doctor to get a referral for a therapist.
As far as people treating you lousy, this often happens when someone has low self-esteem and doesn't know how to set personal boundaries.
It sounds like you're attracting people who treat you bad because you feel so bad about yourself. When you begin to respect yourself more, then others will respect you too.
Start taking care of yourself and I wish you all the best.

You are the person that is responsible for YOUR life. Yes you have family, friends and church to talk with. If,not counselors help too. You only let things happen to you in your life. You let them use you, well this is because of you. If,you are thinking of killing yourself, this isn't the way, believe me on this one. Anyway's what does idk, stand for? I,hope it doesn't stand for I did Kill, this may be the reason you are depressed.1

You could start a forum helpingother people with problems like that, since you understand what it feels like.
Depression is usually the result of a chemical imbalance. Pills = end of problem. No different than any other treatable physical issue.

We tend to say these things when we are dealing with depression....I have felt it and said it on many occasions. I think also when people say they have "someone" to turn to they are talking about easy every day issues. Simply we are not really comfortable telling our every day friends about are deeper maybe even darker feelings. You have purpose, it just may have not shown itself to you yet.... better days are ahead.
Also try and find someone to talk to...even if its a paid professional of some sort. For me its easier to talk to someone who knows what their doing..lol

my suggestions:
find better friends
start doing charity work. every time someone in need says thank you they will mean it from the bottom of their hearts and it will boost your self- esteem knowing you are helping someone less fortunate.
find a support group. the people in the support group know how you feel and you will be able to talk about your feelings without being criticized
