well her boyfriend hasnt been talking to her at all but his best friend says he is building up the courage to ask her to marry him should she call him and give him the answer or pretend she didnt know about it and act surprised? She is really scared and dosent know what to do? HELP

You should distract yourself, not worry about it for a while, give him some time, don't call him because it would only make him feel pressured, and guys freak out when they're under pressure. Let him build up the courage. If a long time goes by and he doesn't call you, go ahead and call him, casual-like and say what's up. Be cool!

Plucking up the courage to ask someone to marry you can be very difficult for some; he should learn to do it for himself. It would highly increase his own self-worth if she wouldn't call him and let him know that she knows. That would be quite anti-climactic as well.
Also, it may be that his best friend doesn't know for sure, and just said that for one reason or another; it would be rather embarassing if she called and that was the case.
Basically, it would be better for everyone to let him ask for her hand in marriage by himself.

She should wait for him to ask. He may have a change of heart, or the whole story may not even be true and in the end she is the one that will feel badly.

he's probably figuring out if he wants that or not it is a big decision he may actually need some time
