I started out really liking it but over the past week it seems that I've kind of lost interest more so than when I began.

YAWN I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention, what was the question?

Here is what I find most annoying:

A: Question abandonment. . .without a serious penalty (Yahoo's mistake).

There needs to be a real incentive for question posters to check back and "select" a best answer. (Right now there's no penalty for a poster to find their answer and then pass on making any ratings. . .with "10" points being a reasonably significant incentive.)

I would propose that question abandonment results in a penalty of 10 (or more) points!

B: "Hung" best answers. . .where the readers are left with the task of selecting a best answer (this only happens because the question poster did not follow through with selecting a best answer). . .and if there is a tie. . .such as three responses getting one vote each. . .then NO ONE gets any points but for their efforts!

So let's see if Yahoo is going the next step to make this a better site.

I don't think it's boring but I have found it shocking that so very many people can't spell or construct a sentence. Don't schools teach these subjects any more? And some of the people who answer questions have their "facts" so messed up, it's difficult to know where to start. Like the fellow who stated that the Balfour Declaration was written in 1954 and recommended the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. ????
But boring? Never.

I find that it has gotten very boring with all of the changes made the other day. We don't get thumbs up or down points anymore. If we get best answer, we don't get points when others give us a thumbs up. I think Yahoo is trying to discourage us from participating.

Depends on time of day.

Sometimes a bad group of wahoos (I mean yahoos), and then sometimes some bright and energetic questions.

Are we running out of things to talk about, like on Sept. 10, 2001?

sometimes, when there aren't any good questions posted. I just go and vote for answers then to keep it interesting or log off do something else and come back.

that's because it's turned into nothing but a game. it's now a stupid trivia game mostly. and everyone knows stupid trivia games lose their appeal fairly quickly.

perhaps when school starts up again.... .
