I must say that we need to do something now and not be ignorant of an evergrowing problem wake up people.

There are many alternatives to oil. But for no transparent reason the answers are being stifled for many years. The greenies are responsible for the delay as well as others. It seems there are many ajenda's

Do you drive a car or take Public transportation, no matter what you need Oil to get around . Maybe you will take to walking great Distances in Order to conserve Oil. If you wear Clothes, eat food, it all has to be delivered some how; so what are you doing about that?Please, I hope that you are not using an A/C to stay cool or Heat in the Winter.

Sure, we can live without oil -- it's time to go back to nuclear energy and then on to fusion! Although, petroleum is more important as a chemical feedstock, than as a fuel.

Mankind can create a garden on Earth -- with high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, we can desalinate the seawater, and create fresh water rivers in the desert. But, only if mankind continues to utilize our God-given creativity!

it won't matter much. Even if we can control consumption in this country. China and India are using more oil each day. It's kinda like smoking. We americans are starting to see the damage smoking does to our health, however the third world countries are smoking more and more. Tobacco companies making more money than ever even though sales are down in USA. Same with oil consumption.

I'm going to keep driving my 15 mpg SUV. Then if I'm ever in a wreck, at least I'll walk away. Hopefully it won't be a little fuel efficient, save the earth car. If it is, too bad for them.

I think that certain societies will learn to live without oil, but that will mainly be because all the oil is gone and they can no longer afford to buy what little oil is left.

If we weren't so dependent on foreign oil, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today! I agree with you totally! I think we are making some progress with ethanol fuel, but we need to step it up!
