Money is merely a "tool" and, like all tools, can be used wrongly. When a person has a love for money even greater than the love of good and decent things in life, when that person is willing to swap love, family, goodness, kindness and decency for money and the things money will buy, then they are no longer useful as decent human beings. If you would trade your family for money, if it is money and the things money buys that you prefer over the lasting and good things in life, then you are of no farther use to anyone.

I think I understand. You can love someone very deeply but the love may not be reciprocated. That is why the term in love is followed by the word "with". It becomes mutual. It is also possible to love someone and not be in love with them. In some ways loving someone is very much deeper than being in love, as being in love requires (to me anyway) the presence of very deep passions, an almost physical drawing towards the other person and constant thought of them - Your man has a lot of stuff deep down inside him you should try and understand. Remember Prince Charles' famous line when asked if he was in love and he made the comment "whatever that is" - he was not in love with Diana - I doubt he really knew how to love her because he knew she wasn't the "keeper" he needed. I do not think you are the "keeper" for your man and I do not think he is your "keeper" - but he could be - if you are able to discover what he means by love - because I do not think he knows what it is; and if he does have an idea of what it is, it is definitely not the same definition as yours. In your situation I would think this had the makings of a long term friendship and no more. There is the bacon but there sure isn't the sizzle!

I don't care about the points, its the message that counts.
Money is a system created by the rulers of the world to keep you in bondage. Money is an accounting tool it has no value, yes in the system it has value, but long ago we had freedom and that freedom was taken from us with a promise from god. That we should obey our rulers and work, be slaves if need be what ever it take and Jesus will save us from damnation. We the lowly citizens that work faithfully every day were traded long ago for a sparkly rock called gold.
So naturally in today's world we lust for money, because we know the more we have the more we can do in the system we the lowly build for the rulers.
Money = nothing, freedom = life before the rulers, we could have much more, but the lowly people rely on Jesus to save us from the very people that created him. That gave the rulers the right to do as they please with us, for nothing.

We have made money a demigod, it now controls most every aspect of our life. Because of this, money has taken the power of life itself in this country. Without it, you cannot live - shelter, food, health care and Even water, the air you breath, and the ability to get around requires you to have money to pay the bills. Then if you want to enjoy some minimal pleasure beyond just the most basic of needs, you have to make more money. So it seems that if you want more out of life you have to continually struggle after getting more money.
So there is no distinguishable difference between the love of money and money itself. To love life, it is almost necessary to love money.

Money is something that we all need to make our way in the world, to clothe and feed us, give us a roof over our heads, maybe a car to drive to get to the job to get that money, and let's not forget the gas to run that car. If we're lucky, we have enough left over to enjoy a few luxuries.(Not this week I'm afraid.) Love of money is putting money first in our lives, where you'll do anything to get it, and waste it on more stuff than you'll ever really need.

Let us compare the two concepts of money and love of money. Money is essentially defined as a necessary evil, it is also considered as wealth. While the love of money is the uncontrollable longing for the necessary evil or wealth in order to gain the very influential value of power. (Lentner, 1997) Money has the capacity to change the world. But the love of money has the capability of changing our world for better or for worse.

Money, the medium by which most of us trade. Understanding the purpose for which money was created & that it is only a means by which one can acquire goods whether of modest or luxury value, helps the average consumer to appreciate and dispense money pproperly. The love of money on the other hand is the situation where the average person becomes dependent on the acquisition & hoarding of such. He /she will lie for it, steal it, perform immoral, illegal & indecent acts for it, even die for it. To this person, money is not a standard way of surviving, it becomes his/her captor. To money he/she is a prisoner.

I'll have to turn this around and ask you, what is the difference between a man and the man your in love with if your a woman?
It's one thing to work and provide your family with it's needs and the man who will do anything to accumulate a bunch of money, just to have it.

money is an object, the love of money is a state of mind that usually results in the oppression of the poor.

When you "love" money, you do anything in your power to obtain it (maybe even illegally) and will not part with any money you don't have to. "Money" is when you use it as a tool to obtain the things you need in daily life.
