My husband's parents think the world of me and when he refuses to budge on a subject I involve them or just the threat of involving them. I usually win when it comes to pets and children.

You don t make him change his mind. That's like fighting a battle and he make resists out of stubbornness. Instead, try to educate him, or to convince him that the position hes taking is not the best position. If his position is wrong, be able to prove that its wrong otherwise try to logically convince him his way may be right but is not necessary the best way for that particular situation. Give him options to help him change his mind. But be prepared to accept his way if you cant win him over. But the best Way to help him change his mind is to sell him on an idea similar to a car salesman selling you a car.

You cant make anyone change their mind. What you can do is lay the issue on the table, with all the pros and cons from both sides, and come to a happy medium. This is, of course, if both parties intially agree to do that. That is the adult thing to do.

I find a nice back or foot rub while I state my case or let it go for a little bit, then do whatever I want ;D In general my husband has found the worst thing you can ever say to me is a flat out NO. That leads to rebellion, if its really the wrong thing I got to figure it out for myself.

If you feel that you are right, than give them the cold treatment. No cooking, no cleaning, and no sex until he is willing to sit down and listen to what you have to say and come to somekind of compromise. It always works with my husband. Nagging them about it just makes them even more stubborn.

You don't. You can try to reason with him and you can explain your point of view, and in the end you should be able to compromise, but you can never make him change his mind.

Um, you don't. If it's something he feels very strongly about, he's not going to change. Either you change, or you agree to disagree, depending on the issue.
