Yes. For a good laugh, Google "Reefer Madness", a '50s anti-pot propaganda film. The gov't is still putting out this kind of crap, only nowadays it's a bit more polished. But it's still BS.

You can get a good idea about the effects of marijuana if you do some independent research, minding the inevitable biases of various sources.

I am a drug therapist. I see people everyday struggling with this drug. The problem is the level of THC. This is the part that gets you high. In the 70's pot was only 3-4% thc. Now its as high as 14-15%. It now has actually been classified as a hallucinogen. Pot surrounds fat cells with tar. Most of your brain cells are fat. This is why we find heavy users talking the Pot Talk, Having no job and living at Mom's at 35 years old. Its funny but its also sad.Pots a really fun drug. But it will probably cost you your future. It also has aa 3 day half life. So smoke one joint and I can still get it in a test 3 days later. Now if you smoke regularly and get all tarred up, 6 months or more after completely stopping I still can find it in you. Not helpful in getting that good job. I used to smoke a lot of pot and nothing happened..............literally.

It is a lot like alcohol. Some people can handle it just fine and some cant. I tried it 25 years ago , I didnt care for it , I dont smoke either. I know people that have smoked for 25 years , there again some are addicted and get frantic when they run out ,and some smoke it if they got it but get by just fine if their out. I think that a lot of people who are naturally STUPID are some of the biggest users and they are the ones that are seen in the public eye. Since its illegal the bright people are not getting caught and therefore dont affect the stereotype. You would be suprised at the jobs that some of these people have.

Those misguided individuals that what to claim that the use of pot is not addictive they are totally wrong. POT is psychologically addictive. I was a user from age 16 until i turned 40. The effects on me were debilitating ....It took me over a year to get myself back to a sort of normal state and frame of mind.

I do believe it has good uses for pain relief. This should be the drug of choice for cancer patients or people who are in chronic pain due to some kind of illness1...

Yes, but to be fair, I think the affects have also been exaggerated to *encourage* marijuana use. I didn't care for it.

No, because there have been bad situations involving marijuana and it would be smart to report all really bad cases of that sort of thing so people can avoid it.

Nope. There's lots of silly rumors, but all the scientific studies on drug effects are pretty accurate. Plus I've seen it with plenty of my friends - and my mom hasn't had a short term memory since the 60's.
