Pre season is designed to weed out the weak players so that each time can get their teams down to the final roster size by opening day.

Well I think it gives you a little clue of what's going to go on in the season but you can't really put much weight on the preseason games. I sell my preseason tickets, it's just not the same. They don't even play their good players.

No i dont....it doesnt show at all what they got.....like everyone else said its just to see how some of the rookies will perform and get their kinks sorted out and also to try new guys and things and people who are fighting for starting positions.............remember that last year the colts were 0-4 in the preseason........then in the regular season they were 13-0 at some point so it really doesnt show anything

I don't think preseason really matter. allot of teams are trying new things and players. most of the starts our out by the 2nd or 3rd Quarter so I don't put any weigh on it as what will happen during the regular season

It does carry some weight. It's the closest you can get to a real game without having to worry about losing too much. And sometimes....the contrast is so great, it does matter. Like Kelly Holcomb and JP Losman tonight...KH didn't go anywhere and JP's moving the offense and even scoring on Carolina...

It really shows, because when a guy is trying to make a roster or fighting for a spot on the depth chart he's going to go all out and probably play his best ball.

Plus without the Pre-Season a team can't work out their kinks before the real season starts.

No you cant put much weight on preaseason games, the only reason to watch them is to see how your players are performing right now and to see whos going to win the starting jobs and most of the time, some of the best teams done win many preaseason games

usually no, but there are times when I look for strategic changes, for instance the Eagles came out and did indeed run the ball and they even gave Westbrook the goal line carry, so thats indicating that they do intend to try and blanace their offense this season.

of course it also confirmed that Westbrook is an injury risk since he hurt his ankle in that game and will likely miss the rest of the pre season :(

one word of caution, it isnt wise to move players too far up and down your cheat sheet based upon pre season games.

No, the preseason doesn't mean anything. They should shorten it to 2 games at most.

Overall, not really. I look for how the starters perform against starters, and how the backups perform generally. Whether the Eagles win or lose in pre-season is of no relevance to me.

no since half the players in this weeks games won't be on the team for the regular season opener.

As a side note the 1972 Dolphins (the perfect team) actually lost atleast one pre-season game-I think they may have lost 2
