$2 bills are worth exactly that. Nothing more.

I use it as I would any other piece of currency. There is no extra value to it and the government will not recognize it as being worth anything more than 2 dollars. I have used 2 dollar bills many times and there are a lot in circulation still. It doesnt matter how old it is, the government will only recognize it as 2 dollars. It's not like they will give you 2 cents for a 1920 penny, just one cent. They arent even collectors items because there are many out there still.

I have about 6 or so $2.00 bills. I never thought about them being worth anything. I kept them because you rarely see them.

The other reason I kept them is because I used to be a travel agent and I had a client that used to tip me a $2 bill just for giving him a price on an airfare. He thought travel agents did more work than some people that were tipped and thought I deserved it. That was quite unusual.

He was such a nice man. He told me about his days in the military and being there on D-day. He told me so many interesting stories of his military days. I really kept them to remember what a wonderful man he was. He has since passed away, but everytime I happen across my $2 bills I think about him. I ended up sending him to Germany to meet up with a certain anniversary to meet with other men in the military. He came back and thanked me over and over for the trip. All I did was sell him an airline ticket, but he acted like I made the whole trip wonderful.

Even if they did become valuable, I don't think I'd get rid of them.

I don't know but it doesn't hurt to hang on to one. My husband and his Mom each keep one in their wallet because they believe it's good luck.

I do think that someday it may be worth something. I'm not sure why the hell they make them or how long they will continue making them for but they should probably stop soon. Oh and hang on to some pennies - they are going to stop production on pennies within the next 20 years. Probably sooner - some people are fighting to stop pennies already in the next 5 years.

Like the other poster said - in our lifetimes they may not be worth much but someday they will be.

I collect them and set them aside, not because I think that they will be worth more than $2/each in my lifetime, but because I use them to tip with when I go to Vegas or Reno. Most of those tipped think it's pretty neat to receive crisp $2 bills!

No, we collect them because they are unusual and kind of cool-looking. They probably won't be worth anything until they come into the possession of our great-great grandchildren.

$2 bills haven't been out of print long enough to acrue any extra worth. But they are different, and that makes them collectible.

I have one. I thoght it might be worth something someday. Then I saw an add for a scrap metal place that pays you in 2 dollar bills for scrap copper. So I guess I'll have to hold on to it a little longer!

I don't care if they're worth anything; they're just fun to collect. I have a two-dollar bill, some Euro money, Canadian money, some other foreign money, and I collect the state quarters.

Wheat pennies, anyone?
They actually fetch a small profit now.
Plus, they're worth more than that for the copper content.

I wish I'd saved all my silver coins back when I had a paper route instead of depositing them or changing them for bills.

Unless there is something absolutely special about them, it's $2

Older $2 are worth more, but you may never get what you think it is worth.

Check eBay for an overall idea as to what is happening.
