i've tried on line detective sites, they only give u info u can't really use. I would like to find a site where I can find out if my friend still lives in his old town etc. if he's married etc. how I can contact him etc. So far, i've gotten an address...how old it is, i don't know.

You can also check the local City where your friend lives at Municipal court records to see if they had any tickets that will give you some up to day info on the address at least.

And, I have found people by googling the name. I actually found a guy that my best friend had been looking for since Vietnam. I found him by googling his name. I found a reference to him in Canada.

There's a reason why the internet does not disclose too much personal information on yellow page sites and detective sites. Stalkers and creepy pedophiles. Oh, and for privacy too.

MSN white pages pretty accurate for phone and address info. You could try one of the high school reunion sites (Reunion.com or Classmates.com) to see if he registered there, or try searching "Whatever-county-you're-in Public Records".
