They are going to ask you some questions that appear to be silly (if you saw a friend of yours stealing something from the store, what would you do?), but all of the questions have a purpose - they are looking for honesty, intelligence in the answer, and ability to think on your feet.
Some of the ones I remember:
-Why do you want to work for Target? What do you have to offer this company?
-What would a past supervisor say were your strong points? Weak points? (always have weaknesses - no one is perfect. If you say you don't have any, you will never improve! They want people that will improve, and move up through the company at some point)
-What was something you were involved in that you were very proud of, and were the lead on it? What did you do?
There are more, but this is the kind of quesitoning they will go with. And the question about a friend stealing. Be honest, and answer as truthfully as possible. There are "ideal" answers for every question, and the person interviewing will take notes on the answers you give.
Good luck!

2. What you did not like as a cashier in your previous job? Why?

7. Why do you need this job?

10. Questions about hobby: They will look for things like, were you mathematically inclined, and do you have a natural likeness for numbers?
11. How many days off did you take in a year in your previous job? Can you work Saturdays, Sundays? What family commitments will prevent you from working on these days? (young baby, husband's work, tending to your parents, religious activities, sports etc.. could be some reasons)
They may also give you a 30-minute personality test, involving arithmatic.
Just be yourself. Don't over do anything. Do not wear perfume. Do not wear low-cut dresses. No overly done make up either. Just appear business like.
Good Luck.

I used to interview for Target when I worked there.
they will ask you very basic questions, about your experience, and if you have any customer service skills.
They may also ask you questions like describe yourself in 10 words?
what has been your greatest achievement?
tell me about a stressful situation you were in, how did you handle the situation.?
Just be yourself, dress nicely.
If you are unsure of what to say after a question.. say can I think about that for min?.. the silence will be awkward, but it may buy you some time to come up with an answer.
above all, send a thank you note to the person who interviews you, get a business card or at least their name. It shows you are thoughtful and polite.
Good luck.

They'll probably ask the same questions they ask brain surgeons. Why don't you interview for that, too, while you're at it? Just stroll on over to the "Brain Surgery" Dept. at Target while you're in there applying for the cashier position. It's located back by sporting goods.

actually, I think it is on the computer and they hav e a quiz, But I wouldnt worry about it. But if you got passed that and have an actual interview, then mad props. I would expect questions like, "what would you contirbute to our company?" "What makes you different from all the other applicants?" or "How do you handle tough situations?" I dont know, generic stuff like that.

the basic questions, about how you would handle customer service situations. Probably give you some form of a math test.
