-3(2x+1)= 2(x-2) Given.
-6x -3 = 2x - 4 distribute the numbers outside the () to the
numbers inside. A.K.A. X outside and inside # together.
-3 = 8x -4 Add 6x to both sides. Why? Because you do
the opposite operation when getting rid of one thing from a side. a.k.a multiplication changes to division.
1= 8x Just like the last step. The -4 is changed to +4 to each side.
1/8 = x Divide each side by 8 to get x by it's self. That's the whole goal of equation....
Not too bad if you just remember just stay calm. I was awful in Algebra 1 and I'm in Algebra 2 now, so don't worry it will get easier.

Solution:
-6x - 3 = 2x -4
Isolating x to one side and the constants to the other side:
-6x-2x=-4+3
-8x= -1
x= (-1)/(-8)
x= 1/8
