I want a service that's legal and safe. I don't mind paying a reasonable fee for quality and service. And I certainly don't begrudge the artisits their due.

I use Napster most often. You don't have to subscribe to them if you just want to buy songs as you need them - if you don't have (or want to use) a credit card, you can buy prepaid Napster music cards at some stores such as Best Buy or Shaw's. They also have the most hassle-free way of copying your songs to another computer - you're allowed to download your purchased songs to up to 3 computers. They also allow you to re-download (up to 3 times) your songs if you lose them from a hard drive crash. Most Napster songs are encoded at 192k WMA - the best possible for that file format, which has the same quality as a 320k MP3 file but only about half the size.

My second choice would be Wal-mart at 88 cents a song, as opposed to 99 cents - you can also use Wal-mart Gift Cards instead of credit cards to pay for Wal-mart music downloads.

limewire. I downloaded it onto my computer and it lets me have all the songs I want for free. It's really cool. I used to pay 99cents to downlaod a song but then I got into limewire and now I don't waste my money on songs that get played out somtimes in a matter of months
