Basics:
Pencil case, with 2 pencils, sharpener, eraser, 2 blue pens, colour pencils, mathematical instruments and calculator
( depending on your grade) , a good ruler with both inches and cms, a timetable book and a note book for taking down notes or reminders. Handy to have a small packet of tissues.
School bag and lunch box .

I'm in college and all I need is a notebook per each class and a pen or a pencil and if you have a lot of books...a book bag

usually notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, loose leaf paper, maybe binders, whatever extremely expensive calculator your math teacher makes you get (for high school)
teachers usually tell you what you need as you go

GOOD ATTITUDE IS MOST IMPORTANT. Also notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, bookbag, eraser, maybe markers or crayons, calculator, clipboard, headphones for computer lab, P.E. shoes. Probably more but I'm not sure what.
