Is there another more reliable web-based free encyclopedia out there that isn't re-written daily by people who don't know when the *BEEP!* they are talking about? Also I would like to find a website that will check whole documents of text for spelling errors. I don't have a Microsoft Word program right now and such would be helpful when I blog as I am a very very bad spellier.

http://encarta.msn.com/ is very good.
http://www.encylopedia.com/ is okay, too.

Unfortunately no, there is not a more reliable one that is free. However, you can get HUGE discounts on Encyclopedia Britanica's web site if you are a student.

There is help out here. As a member of Yahoo, you can access Yahoo education - dictionary and encyclopedia.
