Most of the time it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I'm realizing more and more that it is. When I walk down the street, sometimes i think I'm the center of attention. I feel like people have these extreme impressions about me, like wow, this guy looks strong or who does he think he is, when in truth they're probably thinking about themselves or what they're going to do next. Then, when it comes to my friends, it's a little different. Once in a while, I think they're hiding something from me when they're not. This happens with my best friend too, who I've known for years, and is extremely faithful. Have any of you gone through experiences like this? Please explain and what did you do to overcome your paranoia?

Could be onset of paranoid schizophrenia or paranoid personality disorder.

You really need to make an appointment with a good therapist. No need to suffer when help is available.

How old are you? Maybe what you have is not paranoia but what is called imaginary audience that is a term used to decribe adolescents belief that they are the focus of attention and are being evaluated by every one. Only if you're still an adoloscent.

Imaginary audience is a normal natural part of development that diminishes as time goes by. Think positevely....search the web or a good book on many points how to think positively

I have a paranoid friend and she drives me bonkers! She is always thinking things are directly vented or pointed toward her. She thinks someone is following her. It is ridiculous! She thinks people are talking about her when they aren't. I try to help her, but she always revers back to thinking these crazy thoughts. I say get therapy---professional help. You need help! We can't help you because I know how hard I try to help my goofy friend. I care about her, but she thinks crazy things sometime. It is consuming her life and getting worse and worse. Get help while you still can!

A 12-Step Program would do wonders for your basically selfish and mistaken preconceptions.

Realize that you're not important to most people, so they really don't care about you or anything to do with you. If someone laughs don't assume it's at you, they most likely haven't even noticed you.
