Usually, they have excellent grades because their schooling is virtually one on one
Their references are typically awesome as well
It doesn't hurt that they are celebrities and can being some publicity to the school

Neither. It's "life experience". Sometimes it's more valuable than grades.
Don't forget, these celebrities that go to Ivy league schools are usually VERY smart anyway, so it's not like they are taking Jessica Simpson or anything.

In a word - MONEY
"donations" are a little treat for everyone, and if the Alumni "giveback" more to the school it can boost their College/University Rankings
Being Famous also helps

i dono. i know ive heard some are smart and got in. i think scarllet johansen was one? or kiera knightly? i dono. i heard some of them get into many Ivys. but its probably for acting. and thats why they didnt go. because Hollywood was waiting.
