YOU tell them its Pre Menstrual Syndrome, what happens to a woman's body before her period when her hormones shift.
That is causes mood swings swelling cramping and bitchy behavior, then tell him that the next time your having it you will make him aware so that he can beware and will understand so he knows why you turn into Godzilla with him once a month. That its not personal its just a female thing.

Tell him it means Pre-Menstrual Syndrom. Let him do some reseach. Guys like research.
Tell him it's something you can't control. Like one guy above said, compare it to poop. If you gotta poop - you gotta poop. Whoever tries to stop you will get run over.

Print out some information on it and have him read it. It spares you the awkward conversation, and he will have less questions. Good luck.

you tell him it means that while you may not be nice he should be very sympathetic and either be supportive or be very far away for 3-7 days. hahaha

Just tell him what it means, straight up - pre-menstrual syndrome, a collection of symptoms a woman may experience just prior to having her menstrual period. Easy :)
