(so basically I'm asking what the best all around MIDSIZED car on the market today is) ~ it seems to me to be arbitrary on today's market, but I just want to know what people think....

Honda Accord and Toyota Camry have been best selling cars in US for last few years - this happens for a reason - those cars are the best mid-size cars overall.

Subaru Legacy 2.5L Single overhead cam. Mileage can be better but it will last forever. Aside from that, you can get a Ford Taurus or Chevy Malibu. But the engines are more difficult to service. Good luck.

Ford Fusion is a REALLY nice midsized car. Also, if you like a little bigger car...the Chevy Impala is very reliable, comfortable and efficient...

look for a used Buick Century, around 24 mpg and still big enuff to carry people and stuff!plus dependable and not underpowered for the freeways.
