Get involved in extra curriculars! And I don't just mean sports --join something like FFA, 4H, Mock Trial (if your school has something like that), or Forensics (...as in the speaking competition, not a science club). You'll get to do some traveling, and meet lots of cool people. My high school life would have been SO DULL if I hadn't done something like that! --Also, volunteer someplace! It looks really good on job applications and college transcripts in the future! Don't know where to volunteer? Libraries -always- need help (my Aunt is the director of our local library, she highly encourages people to volunteer), or if you're from a larger town, a food pantry, humane society, homeless shelter... all kinds of places like that (plus, a lot of Government teachers require volunteer work later, so it's good to get started early!). Other things to keep in mind through high school...
Other things: hand stuff in on time and take good notes (I cannot stress this enough...)

watch out for the sleazy upperclass men guys who might try to take advantage of you because they think you're naive.
don't be obnoxious and think you're hot **** just because you're in high school.
get involved in sports and activities, because it will look good on your college resume (if you plan on going to college).
don't be afraid to be different.
stay away from drugs and alcohol, there are plenty of ways to have fun without being drunk or high.
don't let petty drama come between you and you're friends.
go to homecoming games and other big high school events like that, they're fun.
take advantage of the time you have to try things you've always wanted to do whether it be in or out of school (ie. taking salsa lessons, trying out for cheerleading, playing guitar, starting a band with your friends) because later in life you might not have the time or get the chance to do so.

also... do this, because it will be intresting, write a letter to yourself telling about yourself as of right now, what you like to do, who you're friends with, what you're looking forward to, stuff like that. because believe it or not between now and the time you graduate you will really change, hopefully for the better. an older friend once told me this while i was a freshman, and i didn't believe him, but now i totally see the different changes in me (im going to be a senior).

some people say high school is the best time of your life, but you have to make it that way, it just won't happen automatically.

nicely, u can attempt the advantageous guy's innovations-set and purely proceed attempting to speak to her, ignoring ur 'chum'. Sorry, yet there is not any longer plenty that u can rather do. seem at it this way; if this lady falls for ur 'chum' then she's no longer rather worth ur time. frequently women have stable instinct while it consists of identifying on the proper guy, so if u finally end up dropping her, it rather is not any longer the top of the international. She purely wasn't marvelous for u. stable success, i kno i'm no longer plenty help...

Stay out of Juniors and Seniors ways. They will beat you. You will be ok with the Sophmores since they just went through what you will be going through.....
