Brain06 is partially true except with AVG - it's safe. PCWorld.com, CNet.com, along with many other sites pertaining to computers all have recommend it in the past. I wouldn't recommend getting Norton or McAfee. They're being picked on by the hackers just as bad as Microsoft is. I would go with AVG, but only download it at their site and not anywhere else as you want to play it safe as possible.

i could propose avira antivir classic yet fairly that's demanding to others with its pop up advert to replace to top rate and constrained time supply (in spite of the undeniable fact which you will "renew" it). Then there is avast domicile version which has a special interface (similar to a winplayer or winamp or the likes) and a registration is all you decide on. Then the least perplexing yet lesser than the two (nonetheless somewhat helpful nevertheless) is AVG unfastened that's basically an installation away. For antispyware you need to apply spybot SD or greater proper yet attempt spywareblaster with threatfire unfastened. a solid removing gadget could be spywaredoctor unfastened or a-squared antimalware unfastened (the two are ok because they have not got a real time scanning). Then for firewall you need to use comodo firewall professional or kerio very own firewall 4 (which has a 30day trial and then it switches to the unfastened version).

free.grisoft.com

This is AVG Antivirus software. It's the best free virus software that is out there. I have been using it for years, and have had no problems with viruses. Grisoft is good about updating the definitions and lists and keeping everything up to date for their customers. It's the one that I recommend to everybody that I know, and it's the one that I hear recommended the most.

It's very easy to use, keep it up to date, and has a scheduler so that you don't even have to think about it if you don't want to. But as for spyware...www.lavasoft.com and download Ad-Aware SE Personal...the free edition. If you have these two tools on your computer, and keep them up to date and run scans REGULARLY, you should have no problems. Glad to help!

hi, perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

If you want no spyware/adware/malware/virus problems, get a copy of Linux (mepis, ubuntu etc).
Available at your local newsagent or over the internet.
Get a geek friend to help.
No more problems with slow-down programs.

dont download any anti virus from the internet. i did that with my computer and when it crashed i was told that downloading anti virus protection from the internet is worse then downloading anything else. your best bet is to buy norton anti virus it cost $80 but its worth it.
