A house is an inanimate thing. It contains no memories, no hard feelings, no ill will. You have to figure out what is best for you financially. It may not be a bad idea to make a fresh start - or with the housing market on a decline nationwide, it might be smart to hold on to it for a bit longer - but that is another topic altogether.

The bottom line is, do what is right for you. If you decide to stay - put some energy into freshening it up - give it a good paint job, some new landscaping, new flooring, and a new door. You would be surprised how different it will look and feel. And put a little energy into freshening yourself up! Its a new world out there, time to start exploring.

i sold mine because the house can be really haunting You need a fresh begining i guess i would consult your kids too, if they don't mind go ahead and sell. Besides it will be hard for your girlfriend or future wife if you don't women are very sentimental and she'll know you shared that home with another women.

Too many hurtful memories? I would sell it and start over in another house. Small enough to furnish well and prepare for visits from your kids....Good Luck

Would you ask strangers how you should have your eggs? Live in it, sell it, or tear it down. It's just a house. The house just is. It didn't cheat, sleep with anybody, or break up your marriage.

It's up to you. If I was you, I would stay in the house. I wouldn't want to move into an apartment.
