I don't think there is an entire civilization or society that does this per se, though every society has to have certain members active and functioning at night to keep the society moving. There is no advantage to have all of a civilization's operations occur when the sun is down; human evolution went in the opposite direction and it makes more sense to work in the daylight when things are more easily seen.

Cultures that live closer to the Earth's poles are used to living in all dark or all light for long periods of time, but not usually because they WANT to live or work in the dark///
