haha looks like alot of people arent truly reading your question. im my opinion, if i were put into a society without hate and intolerance and prejudice, then the people would probably not be intellectual organisms and thus neither would i. i think it is human nature, no, nature OVERALL that designs organisms to fight for resources - it's the theory of natural selection. thus it has been programmed into each and every person as much as they would like to hide it.

one must understand that it truly became a fundemental part of human society once we had established our self-consciousness and thus began to explore the variety of emotions that accompanied such intelligent thought. after all, it is through our DESIRE to create a peaceful world, that we FIGHT. it has been said that one cannot have peace without fighting for it, and perhaps that is true? If people truly worked everything out so that there was no fighting, then the only possible solution is that everyone would have to give everything up to each other. BAM! we have communism. and we all know how well THAT works...

we are not BORN equal, so how can we pretend that we all are? some people are obviously more aesthetically pleasing, while others are more capable of retaining information, making them more intelligent. one cannot believe that one can simply recognize those differences and not judge the person at the same time, because the associated emotions are too alike.

in conclusion - we were born thinking machine, born to assess the world around us, and born to attempt to attain the best living standards and conditions for ourselves. it would impossible to seperate such innate qualities from our species without also losing our intelligence, emotions, and associated human qualities.

Hate and intollerance will never be overcome. People will never give up the notion that they are not the superior ones. If people lived together like that then we would have no war, starvation or disease, because we would pool together all resources to help each other. Therefore, a utopia. Sadly enough it is impossible

We'd have billions to spend on something other than wars, prisons, and social services.

Some would say it signals the end of the world??

That would be nice, but no I dont think it could ever happen because as long as there are people on earth, there will always be different opinions so there will always be conflicts, discrimination, and prejuidice. It's always been this way and I think it will always be.
