Hi

For crime purposes - the definition of human life is when the being has a complete independent existence from its mother
[R v A (a child)]
Thus if a child dies while in the womb - the person responsible will not be guilty of murder but only manslaughter.
- death is the point where the brain stem has been damaged irreversibly [R v Malcherek and Steel]

Not sure if this helps but it depends on what context you need the definition for. As legally, the statues and cases (in the UK) have different definitions for different fields of law.

The phrase "culture of life" is a rhetorical term arising from Roman Catholic doctrine, used frequently by Republicans in United States politics. It is shorthand for a concept that human life, at all stages from conception through to natural death, is sacred. As such, a "culture of life" is opposed to practices seen by its proponents as destructive of human life, such as embryonic stem cell research, abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, and war. The culture of life has often been contrasted by politicians and religious figures with a "culture of death". As such, it serves as a code word that appeals to a politician's main demographic without having to mention any of the issues that may cause dissent.

Congress is still debating this one. Once they decide when
life begins then RoeVsWade could become mute. I believe life begins at birth. Philosophers may disagree and right to lifers
certainly will disagree with me but life begins at birth...until then it is a fetus. Are you asking if this life unborn should have rights???
