I only get jobs that don't satisfy me, I don't like having only high school diploma.
I'm worried If I finish college I won't get a job because I'll be too old for an interniship and so.
Any ideas suggestions?
thanks

Don't worry about your age. I just started back couple of years ago and am now 33. I won't graduate until the end of 2007 (IF my classes can be scheduled right). I have already had two companies interested in me for an internship. Work closely with your advisor to find the career path that is right for YOU. It is a lot of time, unending effort and sacrifice to end up with a position that doesn't satisfy your personality. That is why I dropped the nursing program I was in over 7 years ago. Now I am in an accounting program and the work suits me much better. Just really evaluate what you want -- and then go for it! Best of luck!!

I started at 33 but it took longer than 4 years because I went part-time for a year and then missed half a year because of surgery. Do a lot of networking--go to professional meetings and other places and meet people in your field who can help you when you get out of school. Most jobs are gotten through other people not advertisements. Get to know school job counselors well and let your goals be known. I got a satisfying job that paid pretty good. Now I'm retired and working as an independent.

Its depend on what you are going to study.
Or if you don't choose the jobs you will get a job. I think although people can also start uni from 60+ years old and they may be attentive, excitedm, doing very well in uni's exam and assignment and bra bra bra..., 34 is perhaps too late to go uni for career pass. "Rather than study at universities, you had better to have more working experience at companies instead.", that what I was suggested or blamed from companies reclute officers when I graduated from undergraduate school and later also graduate school to study PRACTICAL subjects that I thought t would be useful to get a better job (I went to both school as adult students) and tried to find a job (just an ordinal office work). 3 or 4 years later (may be), when you graduate from uni, you may realize that you had just lost your most of moneys (for tuition and living costs) that you have saved in 25? years and a lot of times of yours and really feel hopeless about rest of your life. So I guess you will be having difficult time with a higher degree too. I think you should worry your age because I assume it will be more difficult or less opportunities and less doors to find or to change your career in late 30's than 34 years old.
Good luck of your life anyway.

You are never too old for an internship. It is never too late to start. I am 21 and finishing college, but I have had many friends in classes that were 30+ years old, and some of them had internships. The best thing to do would be to talk to the academic advisors of the college you want to go to. Internships are open usually to ANY undergraduate student, regardless of age.

The company/person/research/lab facility that you intern for will probably be thankful that you ahve had years of experience in the work force- you'll likely be more reliable and even in some cases more motivated than many of the other interns they have had.

Good luck and go for it! It's never too late, especially if you are unsatisfied with what you are doing right now!

Good luck! Dont worry about your age. Just think about your education. Granted, a lot of people are over looked because of their age and that is discrimination but dont let that keep you from what-ever your goal is. Most places are going to hire the best person for the job!

Thirty-four is far from 'too old.'

You can still apply to be a police officer at that age...

If nothing else, a college degree might just make you feel confident.

Internships are not required often.

If you go to a trade school, they can place you before you graduate.

You will not only get a job when you finish -- you will get a better job.

Older students often do well -- because they are there for the right reasons and because they are focused.

My advice -- major in something practical.

It's never too late to go back to school. I think one should never stop learning. But in your case, you may want to attend a vocational school that deals with your interests. They'll also help you find jobs right after you graduate.

I always found that the older students were more attentive, excited about learning, and willing to bring the life experiences to share about a topic or issue.

You could be a blessing to the teacher and the other students, and they will be more willing to help you keep up/excel then all.

Some employers appreciate a willingness to 'continue to learn', as it shows them you are willing to keep your skill upto date.
