Very limited - not enough variation.

No - it's the chart and modern music station. Radio 2 and 6 music are there for variety and play lots of songs from different genres and eras, they play a bit of everything and a lot of the best bits while radio 1 plays what people are buying most at the moment.

It is like a double edged sword really.

You know when Radio 1 has the most audience participation and texts? When they do their bank holiday thing of playing requests from people, no matter what the song is. People love that because of the freshness and variety.

Playlists are there because of their policy of promoting new music thus old music is shunted to Radio 2, which coincidentally is getting more listeners so make of that what you will.

Yeah, course it is, it's just like any other radio station that plays pop music (in the day time that is, i can't fault it at night!). They do it to promote all the crappy pop singles so they get stuck in your head and make you want to buy them! Thats how the music business works. They have the 'A' list with all the new pop tunes, the 'B' list with half pop tunes, bit of rock, bit of dance. Usually the 'c' list has a few decent tunes, but they played even less!

When i go to work i prefer the radio OFF. I cant stand radio stations, they are for braindead people who cant get on with thier work!.
I dont concider a radio as a form of entertainment anymore. its out of date.
I think radio has gone past its sell by date and needs to be completetly changed to meet the needs of a modern life.

I dont have the time to sit and listen to some arogant self-opionated jumped up dj waffle on about his opions of something... my opion is SHUT UP AND PLAY WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT, NOT YOUR PLAY LIST!!!
