Should we all protest the gas companies and stop driving? I think we should walk or bike places from now on? Who's with me? It'll save your wallet and the enviornment (not that any of you REALLY care about it).

Nice idea. Trouble is, my job is 50 miles away. Even if I did ride my bike that far, I wouldn't be very presentable at work.

A better solution would be to boycott 1 brand of gas. If everybody didn't buy Mobil gas for a month, Mobil would be forced to lower their prices. Dramatically. Once that happened, everybody would only buy Mobil, forcing their competitors to lower their price.

Let's declare September "Mobil-Free".

Count me out! I live in a part of TX where commuting and driving in your auto is a must! Even in our city of 100,000+ it is risky to be on a bike or just try to cross some of the streets unless it is the holidays, when there is almost gridlock in the southern part of town, all because of the city fathers and the TXDOT have never heard of the concept of an overpass! Our city is beautiful, but it is congested and getting worst by the nano-second. Some brave souls at UT are trying for a month. I think they are still surviving this traffic. They are losing weight and building up their muscles according to our papers.

It could be done, but everybody is just going to eat their loss for the day. Call in sick, stay home for the day, cancel your appointments, don't go to school, lose a day's income, the dividends of which will bring things to a stop, for only 24 hrs.

Considering profits lost by those who are essentially shaking us down, I guarantee they would notice.

If you could get all to do it for 48 hrs., who knows?

But everybody has to take a bite of the crap sandwich. OK, where are our concerned fellow citizens? Believe me, they who do not see this question will have no clue. So who is it up to?

9/11 couldn't unite us for long. I wonder if getting screwed like a tired sheep my be more universally understood?

That's a great idea, if people would really do it. I would if I knew that at least 1000 people in my state were also doing it. Otherwise that mobile free month is a good idea.
