I have a laptop but it only has the VGA output port, it doesn't have an S-Video port. I want to be able to plug my laptop up to the tv. How do I go about doing that and what equipment do I need and where can I purchase it from?

The Item description says its for a dell, but it will work on any VGA port.

The picture won't be nearly as clear as with your Laptop screen. For simpe tasks, presentations or games it's just fine though. I used to watch Movies like this before I had a DVD player.

To switch displays you will need to press the Function key (Probably labeled Fn somewhere in the lower left hand side of your laptop's keyboard). press Fn & the key that looks like a monitor up on one your Standard Function keys (F1 to F12). Keep pressing this combination until you have the desired setting (LCD/TV or both). On most laptops, if you connect the cable and turn on yoru TV before you turn on the laptop, the TV will be detected and used automatically.

odds are your tv doesnt have a vga in. You can buy an adapter or probably easier, your tv, or surround might have an S-Video in. Use that, then make sure you go to display properties andselct the second monitor as "attached"
