Acid removes rust. Whink is sold at many stores, including Ace hardware, for about $6.00, a solution of hydorflouric acid. Very effective.

Try using a kitchen product called "Magic Eraser", it seems to remove anything from everything.

Try wire wheel cleaner which is acid. You can get it at an auto parts store.
