I really don't know. However, usually you start around the same age your mom did.

You dont really know when you're actually going to start your period. When you first have you period is determined by when your mother first had hers. If she had it when she was 13, you'll have it around 13 also. And hon, do you think that periods make you a woman and that all of a sudden you'll go from ugly duckling to swan? Because, that is not true. A period just indicates that once a month you have to deal with changing tampons every 4-8 hours (or pads...which dont use pads. theyre so messy and gross. tampons are better, plus they dont hurt.). It also indicates that you are able to get pregnant. It doesnt indicate that you will grow taller or than you will get boobs and get a "womanly figure". That has nothing to do with your period. Some girls dont even get boobs a few years after they had their period. Some girls dont even develop curves until their 20's. So I wouldnt be in such a rush to get your period.

i have started mine and i usually get crapping starting a week before adn through out it. You also start after yoyur breast fully devep, at leasst mostly.(Yes this is aqward to say but you need to here it.) I also started when was 12yr. The ages very but most people start around then. But you could be different. I also get hot flashes and sometimes diarea. Yeah, that's gross but it happens. Some people get head aches. It really just depends who you are. Some people feel no pain but i do. so you never know. Because of the pain i take Midol. That stuff works miracales. I recommend it if that is the situation.

It is different for many people; some, like me, gained a bit of weight in the months beforehand (about 40 lbs. in my case but some gain even more). This might even out (I dropped much of it in the next 2 years), but some girls have lifelong weight problems that begin at puberty. Your hormones go wild, so you may experience skin problems at the same time and possibly mood swings. The cramps would come only right beforehand. It was a long time ago, so that's about all I can remember!
Cheers!

Unfortunately, you don't. Nature has this cruel joke she likes to play of every girl.

I was an early bloomer so right in the middle of Geography in 4th grade I felt like my pants were soaked. Yep, no cramps nothing... just a mess and massive embarassment.

Check with the women in your family. Both sides can help you determine your age and likelihood of "spouting a leak."

Be sure to carry at least a couple of feminine hygiene products wherever you go. Many are descreet and I'm can tell you that no matter how close you are to your friends - this is one thing you should go to your Mom for!

Best of Luck!

There is no way to tell. Its usually a surprise the first time haha. The first time i got it I was sick for an entire week before with the flu. I was 11. I was excited to get my mensus. Now a days I wish my body was the still way (no cramps or nothing) when you get older you'll get more symptoms of when your mensus is coming, usually it consists of holding water(bloated), Crabbiness, feeling hot or cold randomly, etc. Patience is the key to this one. If you have any questions you can email me if you'd like. And if you ever feel like eating chocolate when you have it go for a Dark chocolate b/c this carries 80% antioxidants

Before you get your period, your breasts are going to hurt...a LOT. You'll start noticing a little bit of pink on the toilet paper when you wipe yourself. And most importantly, you'll get cramps right before it happens.

Don't wish it to happen too soon. There's nothing fun about it at all. The longer you don't have it, the more fun you can have.

Which period are you referring to? When I was in High school my first period started at 8:15. The last period ended at 3:05. I'm glad I'm done with high school!

Get the book "The Care and Keeping of you" It's really good and will explain a lot. BTW, it's not misery for everyone. Talk to your mom and be prepared.
