My husband can't unless he concentrates, and even then it is more of a conscious lifting of the cheek and lowering of the eyebrow. It's too funny, and endearing. I'd never thought of anyone not being able to wink until I met him. Can you? Or is it an effort?

Nope, not me... I mean, the description of your husband sounds like me! I have to really, really concentrate, LOL and even then it is sooooo not natural looking.
I used to practice and practice trying to get it done easily and look natural to no avail... so I just do not wink at anyone so I don't look so crazy, LOL

It is very easy for me to wink. I can even switch eyes with no problem. I usually use my left eye since I am left-handed. My wife loves me winking the way I wink.

It's easy for me, but I can only wink my left eye... No chance with the right.
And on a side note, I can only do the "Live long and propser" thing with my left hand, and not my right.
I'm right-handed, yet I can only do those two things with my left side... I always thought that was so weird.
