Which model HP Pavilion? They are all different.

Does your HP have TV tuner module?

Does your HP have a Video input connector?

Review the Instruction booklet. Then read the section on Specifications and look for the TV Tuner capability. Look for Video Inputs.

Basically, you should just buy a TV to watch TV. In your kitchen, you would use your Refrigerator to COOK your food, unless you really liked Jello alot.

You need a TV tuner built into the Laptop to receive TV. If it doesn't have one you can get a USB TV Tuner, and connect it to cable or an antenna. You can find one here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815116311
