Hey Phillygirl, nice to see a Flyers fan in here. I think they will win the division because I don't think the Isles, Pens, and Devils have improved any. The only challenger will be the Rangers. I hope Forsberg can be ready by opening day, and Mike Richards and Jeff Carter don't experience the "sophomore jinx" that many players do. Sorry to see Eric Desjardins retire but that is best for him as he was getting banged up over the last several seasons. Coach Hitchcock will have them ready.

LET'S GO FLYERS!

Unfortunately I tend to agree with "Ken J". There's some sort of bad power dynamic in the Flyers as an organization, and the power is centered around Clarke. A great player and a Flyers legend - but in my opinion extremely questionable as a GM. He's had plenty of years to prove himself at the job too and hasn't done it.

The new NHL is the same as the old in that in order to get to the Cup finals, let alone win it, personnel-wise a team MUST have two productive scoring lines, four good D, be able to put together a dangerous power play out of those 10, and have a money goalie - or at least a goalie who's on a money playoff run.

They still need to address the situation in net. My countryman Niitymaeki did great in the Olympics for us. But he has not shown this in the NHL playoffs yet. Esche is not a money goalie and will never be. But Clarke likes him and so he's the man.

When the Flyers have a money goalie, they've always been playoff contenders. Bernie Parent, Pelle Lindberg, Ron Hextall. But not without.

That, together with this weird power dynamic in the Flyer organization with Clarke, will mean that they once again will get 100 points in the regular season but not deliver the goods in the playoffs. Unfortunately.

I am a huge flyers fan also, and im wondering the same thing....I just hope they go further than last yr....Klye Calder looks like he might make an impact....Hopefully the young guns have good seasons...and Keith retires so the distraction is off of him....

Providing that they can keep Forsberg off the injured list, I'm hoping they do well...

The new guys will just have to prove themselves.

They will do very will if Premieu can come back and Forsberg stays healthy. Oh and if they can score on the power play. Oh and if they can kill penalties.

i predict fourth place finish/first round playoff exit. they just don't have a decent goaliee. esche and niittymaki just can't win in the playoffs.
