Home plate is sex.
"Getting Up to the Plate" is your first date or getting to know each other.
"First Base" is kissing (french kissing/heavy)
"Second Base" is heavy petting and genital groping
"Third Base" is orgasm (non intercourse), or all clothes on the floor
"Home Plate/Home Run" is full on intercourse and everything else
"Grand Slam" is a home run with runners on base -- sex with multiple partners
"Bunt" is sacrificing your happiness for your friends
"Steal a base" is getting to the next base without consent (warning: you can get thrown out while attempting to steal)
"Strike out" you never make it to 1st base, take a seat.

Actually it all depends on wherever you are.
In countries like mine (South Africa) where we don't really have baseball we have 5 bases(plus extras):
1st: kissing
2nd: feeling breasts
3rd: hand on genital action, either guy on girl and/or girl on guy
4th: mouth on genital action, either guy on girl and/or girl on guy
5th: sex
and if you want to get technical and perhaps for you gross 6th is anal..
in america though they just combine 3rd and 4th into one and move sex up to 4th, because there's only four bases in baseball, where the saying comes from.
Probably in random places like Amsterdam you get 24th..

Here's what a friend of mine, who's rounded all the bases himself, has told me.
1st base: A kiss, tongue not necessary
2nd base: feeling/seeing the breasts.
3rd base: feeling/seeing "below the belt"
Homeplate: sexual intercourse
