ms is for women who want to hide their marital status and so miss is the right abbreviation.

"Miss" indicates that the person has never been married. "Ms." is probably the more appropriate abbreviation.

if im not mistaken its ms. mrs. would be married mrs means mr and ms thats how mrs came about
