It seems anything can be an '-ology' these days.

Each state regulates their own requirements I was required to take 1500 hours of classes. So some states can actually give a science degree of some (kind not like a rocket scientist) ;). Color and perms use chemistry to make them work and you need a very good idea of how these work to use them well. its not just open the box and slap it on even though thats how some seem do it. I take my job very seriously and try to do what is best for my client not my wallet.

i dont thank thay have a science degree thay lear straight out of a book i am a nail tech, and trust me it is not rook science. but soom cosmetologists can really screw up a good dow.

they are a trade or profession they go to a state approved school and pass a state test that certifies that they can do hair,nails,manicures.cosmologist study the cosmos and are educated in science at college level-bs-ms-phd like carl sagan was

They go to cosmetology school... I don't think they have science degrees.
