Right-click on the desktop and click Properties. Now choose the tab labelled "Screen Saver". There will be a drop-down menu. Pick the one you want (it's probably on "none" right now). If you want to see what your screensaver looks like, press the "Preview" button. There will also be a drop down menu that lets you select how to you want the computer to wait before the screansaver turns on.

Step 1. Go to Control Panel and open it.
Step 2. Open "Display"
Step 3. Click the Tab called Screen Saver.
Step 4. Check to see if the pop down thing has a screen saver in it.
Step 5. Below there should be an energy saver box. in it there should be Settings. Click on it.
Step 6. Make shure that the "system standby" and the "Turn off monitor is NOT set for as or shorter than the time on the wait on the screen saver.

Maybe the inactive time is too long.
To adjust the length of time (of non-use of the computer) after which the screen saver comes on:
1st Alternate click any blank (where there is no icon) space on the desktop
2nd Click "Properties" tab
3rd Click "Screen Saver" tab.
4th Where it says "Wait" _____ minutes, choose the length of inactivity after which the scree saver comes on.
5th VERY IMPORTANT : Choose the tab below that says "Apply" .

first go to your desktop right click with your mouse and go into properties now go to screensavers and check the time it takes to activate also choose the screensavor that you want to come up.
