the part not working is the verticle back part of the seat. it's now stuck in the fully upright position and i'ts killing my back. a separate control operates the bottom part of the seat back and forth and tilts the seat as well. that control is fine. i'd really like to avoid taking it to a dealer. thank you

As strange as it may seem but try unhooking the wires that lay under your seat... Wait a minute or so then hook it up, start car and this should take care of your problem. Sometimes these small problems are caused by a surge and thus your problem is created.
Happy Motoring!

Track the wire it may be unpluged..Also some times there is a fuse under the seat... Also check your fuse box .You will have to take door panel off to see if it is Fried . It's not really that hard.... to check it out. Way cheaper than the dealer will be..Good Luck to ya ! hope ya get her going. Thanks

chances are that you would have to replace the motor the works that part of the seat. you can try to hit the motor and thta might work then again tis is a long shot.
