I whole-heartedly agree with this statement, whether it is a form of religion, mind control, sports psychology, behavioral conditioning, meditation, pop culture, self-help books, or whatever form it may take or evolve into in the future.

The father of Communism said that religion is the opium of the people and he tried to eradicate all religion and replace with the almighty State. It worked only on the surface. The peoples' God was still in their hearts.

I say you can not objectively prove or disprove the existence of any god or supreme being. If you want to believe in God, fine; if not, fine. If you are not sure, then, feel free to use God like a night light: pray to God and be good, just in case, in other words, hedge your bets. This life may be all their is after all, but any way you will have made this world a little bit better place while you were here and maybe did something good for someone else too.

The human mind and intellect are the greatest forces on earth. Within them lie you destiny. All you have to do is discover the right way to use them for your own purposes--good ones, I hope.

Your mind can save your life in dangerous situations! First: don't panic; if you do, you're dead. Second: relax enough and size up the situation and think. Third: Plan and execute. Last: live.

Absolutely, I believe that! The inner attitudes are reflected outwardly. Changing the way you think, feel, etc will cross over into treating people and yourself with more respect and kindness. I try to talk myself out of negative feelings. I am a life student, meaning I take classes still and also watch the way people relate to each other. The world could be such a better place with a more positive attitude and more kindness and understanding.

You've read William James! Then you should be aware of his paper on "The Child in the Adult", a treatise for the child's participation in creativity. So, my answer is: the Mind, as governor of the body. Case in point: profilactic medicines that relieve symptoms, or cure the body's ills. No scientific basis for that, except belief.

If you change your mentalattitude, you change your physical attitude.

That includes battling depression, sickness, etc..... A positive thought will keep you positive.
