Why is it when a ghost appears, you can see through their form to the walls, stairs, furniture behind them, but you cannot see through their clothes or their skin? Have you come across any descriptions of a ghost where their skeleton could be seen beneath the the facial features they wore in life?

No, I don't really believe in ghosts. I have never encounter anything that could convincingly said to be one. I'm interested in the folklore and urban legends version.

I have never seen a ghost. They seem to appear when people have had little sleep are in creepy places with little light, and they don't even appear to everyone which makes me suspect that they have a lot in common with delusions and illusions.

Now, I don't know how many of these ghost reportings are true, hoaxes, insanity or whatever. I'm sure some of them are actual sightings. The more credible descriptions have some common denominators. Old house, transparent people, being attacked, resembling someone dead who lived in that house at one time. It is understandable and plausible that one could think they are being haunted by the spirit of a dead person. Do I believe in ghosts as popularly described? Absolutely not! Do I believe people have seen the things as they describe? Yes, indeed!
First of all, I do not believe that a person's soul lingers around after they die. So, as far as I am concerned, you can forget the ghosts. But how, then, do I explain what honest, credible people are seeing? I believe the key to this is understanding that nature contains flaws. We see this every day in many ways. Genetic flaws and disorders are just a small example. Other areas of nature require extreme order and precision, such as the flow of time. What happens when something upsets the flow of time? Strong magnetic fields have been found at "haunted" houses. Can this and/or unknown forces of nature warp, meld or bend time in certain spots?

Let's just say you are in a "haunted" house. You begin to see transparent people move about. They are hard to see. One of these "ghosts" notices you and starts throwing things at you. Of course you run out in fear. You do some research and discover that the "ghosts" you saw resemble dead people who lived in that old house 100 years ago. It is natural to draw the obvious conclusion. "The souls of these dead people are still living in this house! It's haunted! I need to call Ghostbusters! I need a priest! It needs to be excorsized, circumcised, and sanitized!"

What you are actually seeing is history! Time has been warped in that location, and has loosely spliced two places in time together. "Loosely" accounts for the transparency. The other point in time is not solidly present. Also, if there is any interaction between you and the "ghosts", they may see you as a ghost and respond in fear or anger. That explains the "hostile ghosts".

So, there is the other plausible, and what I believe, true explanation of ghosts. For more information on the relationship of strong magnetic fields and time bending, do some research on what I think they call "The Philadelphia Project".

According to the legends, not all ghosts were transparent. There was one called a wraith that could assume a solid form in order to exact revenge on the person who killed them. Pretty creepy. The transparancy is really just a metaphor, like the ghosts themselves. And any pictures I've come across of supposed "ghosts" don't look anything like that. Just tiny little dots of light like lint on the camera lens...

No, I don't really believe that's possible. I think that if you could see their skeleton, they would have to be somewhat mortal, and I really don't believe in the "undead" zombies and such at all.
Plus, theres a difference in ghosts and poltergiests. Ghosts are actual people, spirits, those who have business to attend to. Poltergiests, from what I understand, are the ones that are see-through. Those aren't even really spirits. Those are sorta created by bad karma, like, if theres a fight going on and you see a black cloud from the corner of your eyes, its bad energy and thus the poltergiest. These are the ones that actually do things like flicker lights and throw things, its negative energy built up. Sometimes positive energy as well, the ones that like to play jokes you hear about all the time.
I believe that ghosts are a form of angel--I saw my grandmother after she died, and couldn't see through her form at all. These may come as angels of darkness as stated through the Bible when the spirits possessed bodies and tried to tempt Jesus.
You should do some research on it though, it's really interesting to see explanations and really famous hauntings and such.

Actually the solidity of a ghost depends on the amount of energy it has to be able to manifest itself. There has been many cases of "solid" ghost sightings all over the world. They look and feel like you and me. The reason most are "foggy" is because it takes less energy to manisfest in that way. There has been some reports where the witness did see a skull instead of a face. or skeletal hands. They are mainly in Europe though.

I think that you are confusing TV and movies with what people have reported as 'sightings' throughout the years. Any time you can't see through their clothes honey, you are looking at a hoax. Most people don't report actually seeing anything except a 'shadow' or something just outside their field of vision. True mediums can tell you what they looked like in life, but they aren't invisible except for their clothes. That's just for entertainment purposes.

No one really knows. Some people say they've seen them. Personally, I believe they exist, but I have never seen a ghost. I do believe they are transparent, but I would say they have clothes that match them. Wouldn't it seem like a floating manikin?

I believe a ghost is just the spirit or soul of a person and not the physical body.

Spirits are on different dimensions than us. The spirit realm is 3 feet above us so that is why they are always "floating." It is hard for them to contact us so that they can be understood. Most ghost are confused and trying to cross over.
