Even though I don't believe in abortion I think the Dr. was wrong. Rape is a terrible thing to go through and the victim received no help from the hospital in her area, a place she is suppose to be able to go to for help. He should change his specialty if his beliefs are that strong. Hospitals almost always support their Dr.'s and Dr.'s typically support each other in the same way.

I did not see this issue this morning.
First of all religion is a choice not a demand. And NO one should force their religion on anyone. I think he was wrong in doing what he did. He is a doctor first and foremost because this so called doctor took an oath. He knew what that oath was about when he took it. If it was against his religion then he shouldn't have taken it.
I agree with the Mother. I would take that doctor to court. Even if there is no restitution for the girl, at least their point has been taken and is being made a public record.
I do pray the girl will come out of this strong.....

While I am too and Christian and believe that abortion is wrong I think that the man knew that in his practice he would be dealing with issues that he may not like and he needs to separate his job from his religion or make it know that he doesn't preform abortions/give out the morning after pill and deal with the consequences it may bring up. I guess it all comes down to whether his job or his believes are more important to him.

well...some doctors still believe that they are healers instead of killers...hmm interesting isnt it?how does the doctor know that some girl got raped? maybe you should stop and think about everything that is involved. as a guy i would never take what some girl said at face value...and especially if im a religious person. you know some people just dont kill on demand like you women think you have the right to do.

It does no longer injury, yet i do no longer think of it somewhat is mandatory. i think of the "morning after" pill can unquestionably be taken any time as much as 3 days when you have intercourse. So if a condom breaks and you haven't any longer have been given a morning after pill attainable, there is a fantastic sort of time to circulate get one.

in defense of the doctor.what did that fetus ever do to anyone? why should it be terminated? thats his point. why should the victum have to raise a child she didnt want in the first place? thats our point.
it will be controvercial for ever......what would happen if abortion and the magical pill didnt exsist? many questions....there is no right or wrong answer. just our thoughts and opinions.
another question? why not give life a chance? there are many women out there that would give their left arm for a baby. how come no one ever considers adoption as a source of conclusion? as i said controversy. opinions are like a s s h o l e s .........everyone has one

I am Christian and I would never be against the morning after pill for a rape victim.
The doctor is entitled to his beliefs but he should not have been in that type of job. He could be in private practice and refuse to have anything to do with terminating pregnancies. That is his right.
That was very cruel to a poor victim of sexual assault.

He SHOULD have his licence revoked, but that probably won't happen. The hospital will fight that case, probably spending more money on the lawyer than they'd have spent on monetary settlement, in order to show the rest of the world that the hospital will not stand up for the little guy and his prolbems.

I think the physician should have never been serving in a position where he might encounter this situation. This is just another case where someone is imposing their beliefs on another. In this case, it was a rape victim. I think the victim had EVERY right to believe her needs would be met at a hospital.

It's ridiculous. when my wife had an affair, our doc gave them to her . that poor girl is paying for the rapists crime and the doctors religous beliefs. So where does she come into it? Will the rapist have to support the child? , or the doctor?. If the mother doesnt, who will?.
Then we have a child who is going to grow up with a father who is a rapist, and a mother that can't bear to think of them. Let alone see them.
