Many artist use pictures of what they draw for inspiration or as refrence for accuracy. When someone hires you to do a painting or drawing, many times they already have an idea of what they want and expect and many times it's turns out to be something you've never done before or specialize in, and as many artist do, they turn to their source of refrence materials. Drawing from looking at a picture is considered free hand. Don't worry too much as to what you are drawing from and concentrate on what you are drawing. It doesn't matter if you are drawing from a photo or from memory, you only need to keep in mind that peope like good art.

Try this. Look at something you want to draw. Get a pen or pencil and write down on a seperate sheet of paper everything you notice in words. Write down as many things as you can. For example, if your looking at a person you might write down "His eyes are shaped like almonds, his nose is shaped like a light bulb with a flat bottom, etc" The more specific you can get, the better. When you're done draw the thing without looking at it and by referring to your list of observations.
Good luck. :)

Many artists draw what she/he sees. The best artists can draw what they feel. Many inspiring artists try to draw things like a camera would snap a photo...detailed and perfectly contrasted. The true artist knows that there hand is not a camera. Let your hand be lead by your heart and mind, not by your eyes. Best wishes, Lalily

Become a camera.
If that is impossible, accept the fact that no one can be good at everything. Thank God for your natural talent and ability. You will improve with practice. You will benefit from classes. But you'll still always be better at drawing what comes naturally to you.

Keep practising. I suggest drawing one thing different at least once a day. Keep everything in a sketch book. As you find your strengths and weaknesses you will be able to practise more on what you don't know how to draw and still be able to draw what you have down.

if u r able to draw well one thing, that's just a sign that u have talent. just practise. of course u could do aeverything else.
for example, i draw only human's bodies, or manga, and then again, i know i'm good at drawing sculptures, and all other. i feel like not enough practised drawing portraits, but it's sure u could do it
